Further to our previous article about Russell Hobbs exploding irons, we are still receiving calls from people who have been injured by these irons due to a defect with the flex.
As we know, Russell Hobbs have been forced to recall 15 of their household steam irons due to defective flex cables which can cause the iron to make a small explosion where the cable goes into the iron. If this happens it could easily lead to a Russell Hobbs Iron Injury.
Is your Russell Hobbs Iron affected?
Don’t use it!
Call Russell Hobbs on 0800 307 7616 or 0333 103 9663 and they will let you know how to obtain a full refund.
Should I return my Russell Hobbs Iron?
If it hasn’t exploded then yes, return it immediately and do not use it.
If it has exploded, do not return it to Russell Hobbs without speaking to us first as you do not want to run the risk of it going missing and you being left with no evidence to make a claim. You can still make a claim if you have returned it but it’s best to keep hold of it for now.
Do I need a purchase receipt to claim?
How Much Compensation?
It varies from case to case depending on the severity of the burns and whether there is any long lasting scarring but ideally we will be looking to recover a bare minimum of £1,000 in compensation for fairly minor burns lasting just a short time.
