100% of our abuse compensation claims are made on a No Win No Fee basis which means that you do not have to worry about any financial risk at all as if your abuse compensation claim is unsuccessful it will not cost you anything.

Criminal Case

If you have been the victim of sexual or physical abuse, we recommend that you report the abuse to the Police (Telephone 101) if you have not done so already.  The Police have specially trained officers who will support you and offer advice whilst any criminal proceedings go ahead.

Whether you need to give evidence at a Criminal Trial partly depends on whether the Abuser admits their guilt and whether the CPS believe asking you to give evidence will help their case.  You will be consulted about this well in advance to discuss any queries you have and remember that there are numerous ways to give evidence; by video link, behind a screen, in a written statement, etc.

If the criminal court proceedings result in a conviction, this can add weight to your abuse compensation claim but a criminal conviction is not essential to have a successful sexual and physical abuse claim.

Abuse Compensation Claim

We provide free, confidential advice to the victims of sexual and physical abuse whether the abuse occurred as a child or adult and we handle all sexual and physical abuse claims with sensitivity and understanding.

We will act on your behalf for your civil claim for abuse compensation.  We understand just how difficult it is to find the strength to talk about sexual or physical abuse and how traumatic it is to reflect on and discuss what happened.

We appreciate that many victims of sexual & physical abuse do not want to go to Court but in the vast majority of cases, physical and sexual abuse claims settle before going anywhere near a Court.  Over 90% of abuse compensation claims settle out of Court without any oral evidence being given.

In the very few cases which do reach a Court hearing, rest assured that we will discuss this with you well in advance to allay any fears and answer any questions you have whilst maintaining complete confidentiality and anonymity throughout.
