Two solicitors.
That’s the whole firm.

247 five-star reviews · Since 2007

You’re probably expecting us to tell you how great we are. How we’re “passionate about client service” and “dedicated to excellence.”

We’re not going to do that.

Not because those things aren’t true. But because every law firm says them. And you’ve heard it all before.

So here’s what we can actually promise:

You won’t spend 30 minutes on hold listening to a recorded voice telling you how important your call is. You won’t be passed from receptionist to paralegal to trainee. You won’t explain your situation five times to five different people.

When you call us, you’ll speak to Chris or David. The same person who’ll handle your claim from start to finish. The person whose mobile number you’ll have. The person who’ll remember your name.

We could have grown.
We chose not to.

Because the moment you add layers, you add distance.
And distance is the enemy of care.

solicitors. That’s it.

Finding a way through — even when others can’t.

That’s all we do. That’s all we’ve ever done. That’s all we’ve ever wanted to do.

We think we know what you’re worried about.

You’re worried you’ll be judged. That your claim is either “too small to bother with” or “too complicated to take on.”

★★★★★

“David took the case on after I’d been dumped by a previous firm who felt my case was too complicated. I almost gave up and I’m so glad I picked up the phone.”

We could tell you this is just good business. That happy clients leave reviews, and reviews bring more clients.

That’s true. But it’s not why we’re still here.

After thirty years, this still lights us up. The tactics. The fight. And that feeling when you get someone the result they deserve — you can’t bottle that.

We still love that moment when someone calls to say it’s made a difference. We still care whether we’ve done right by the person who trusted us.

That’s not something we learned from a business book. It’s just who we are.

Our values aren’t a poster on the wall. They’re the reason we get up in the morning. They tell us which claims to take and which to turn down. They tell us when to push harder and when to be honest about the odds.

Helping people is what keeps us going. It’s as simple as that.

Chris Carter

Principal Solicitor

I’ve been doing this since 1993. Over thirty years of helping people who’ve been hurt through no fault of their own.

You’d think after all that time it might become routine. It hasn’t.

Every claim is still someone’s life disrupted. Someone’s confidence shaken. Someone lying awake at 3am wondering how they’re going to manage.

I don’t forget that. Ever.

When I set up this firm, I made a decision: stay small enough to care. I’ve watched other firms grow, add departments, hire teams of paralegals, install phone systems with seventeen menu options.

That was never going to be me.

I wanted to know every client by name. I wanted to be the person who answers when you call. I wanted to see your claim through from first conversation to final settlement — not hand you off to someone cheaper the moment the paperwork gets heavy.

Thirty years on, that’s still exactly how I work.

David Healey

Senior Solicitor

I qualified in 2005 and joined Chris in 2009. Sixteen years working side by side. That’s not just a job. Some marriages don’t get close.

I should probably warn you about something: I’m direct.

If your claim is strong, I’ll tell you. If it’s weak, I’ll tell you that too. If there’s something you don’t want to hear, you’re going to hear it anyway — because the alternative is letting you believe something that isn’t true, and that helps no one.

Some people don’t like that. Most do.

Because here’s the thing: I’m not here to tell you what you want to hear. Real help starts with honesty.

I don’t use jargon. I don’t dress things up. I explain what’s happening, what it means, and what we’re going to do about it.

You’ll always know where you stand with me. That’s a promise.

Sixteen years.

Chris Carter and David Healey laughing together, Carter & Carter Solicitors

That’s how long we’ve worked together. Same office. Same approach. Same commitment to doing things properly.

We’re not a firm that happens to have two solicitors. We’re genuinely in this together.

When Chris takes on a claim, David knows about it. When David spots an issue, Chris hears about it. We talk through the difficult cases over coffee. We challenge each other. We make each other’s work better.

Two qualified solicitors. Two different perspectives. Two people who genuinely like working together — and who’ve chosen to keep it that way when the easier path would have been to grow.

That’s Carter & Carter.

We could tell you we’re kind. That we care. That we treat people like human beings.

But you’d expect us to say that.

So here’s what our clients say instead:

“Chris was always sincere and kind whenever I was upset. He was a human being and not a robot like other solicitors I have dealt with.”

— Adele Ward

“Dave handled my complex case with professionalism, integrity and compassion. He was very friendly, open and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble.”

— Paul Bowker

“I came across Chris after I had given up. Other firms dismissed me. But HE LISTENED TO MY TALE OF WOE. As a 71 year old, that meant closure.”

— Liz Mills

Ready to talk?

Still not sure if you have a claim? That’s fine. Call anyway.

We’re not going to pressure you. We’re not going to make you feel stupid for asking. And if it turns out you don’t have a claim, we’ll tell you — honestly and kindly.

No obligation. No hard sell. Just a conversation.
